• Welcome to our online journal of photography

For every person, is a personal story, a viewpoint of life, an image to convey. We're so glad you could join us where we share recent events and ideas from our weddings, infant and children's portraits and family photography.

I feel so blessed to have the 'job' and 'business' that I have. I'm constantly inspired, and touched by graciousness and warmth. Our little newborn portraits remind me of the beauty of creation, and the kind of family love that is stronger than steel. And how lucky are we to be able to photograph weddings where more love abounds? Through it all there is laughter, love and life! Don't I have the best 'job'!!

Below are only a few of our most recent images. We will have regular postings, advice, how-to's and stories to warm your heart!

Fun new studio location for Cooper Photography

I love creative locations! Portrait photography centers on the individual first, and the setting second. But don’t you just love a beautiful portrait such as the Old Masters could create? Something that is true art? But can you have fun with true art and a playful setting at the same time?

Check out young Danielle’s Bat Mitzvah portrait session photographed at our new location,  116 Bay Street  in downtown Daytona Beach. It’s Awesome!!! Take a look below, what do you think?

Twilight at Cooper Photography

Think you know what the word Twilight means?  I thought so too, but I looked it up just to be sure. Here it is:  Twilight – The diffused light from the sky when the sun is below the horizon but its rays are refracted by the atmosphere of the earth.

Wow, great definition.  So I’m frequently asked, “When is the best time for our pictures on the beach?”.  And I answer, “I like to start an hour before sunset.”  This gives us time for pretty sunshine or the flattering light of a soft, hazy day. Then if we get a special perk, we have a spectacular twilight display.  Our next word of the day is ‘Serendipity’ – an event by chance in a happy or fortunate way.  It’s life’s way of saying, “Be at the right place at the right time”.  Chance is great but planning is better.

At Cooper Photography we plan, play, and love to take advantage of all nature’s gifts!

Etiquette Seed tames wild children.

Okay a little tabloid headline never hurt anyone, and you’d certainly be curious standing in the check out line with impatient children. In truth it is etiquette diva Heather Post, owner of  ’The Etiquette Seed’  teaching her latest class at the Victoria Gardens Country Club in Deland. Her 8 little charges practiced all kinds of social talents and culminated with a celebration dinner with the parents. They were  gracious little angels all evening!  We had fun photographing a prior class and the final event.

My now 18 year old son remembers when he went to such a class 10 years ago with his friends. He came home and let me know I was missing some silverware on the table. Hmm… now as a college student if I could only get him back to the table!   Heather also presents for business, charity and other organizations etiquette skills that can make a person shine.

These are your etiquette glasses. When you put them on, you can see the B on the left for Bread Plate and the D on the right for Drink. Now you won’t take someone else’s bread plate or water glass!

Children’s Milestone Portraits, little Luke’s 1 year debut

I guess I am staying with the Milestone Portraits concept for a while. One year old really is the first milestone, and I know it’s cliche, but what a contrast from their newborn to first year. Don’t you just love seeing them grow! Our photography studio is changing and growing too. Cooper Photography is spreading it’s wings in response to the economy and becoming more versatile. Watch for more info soon! Meanwhile enjoy little Luke’s beautiful brown eyes!! Look out ladies!

Windswept family beach photography

Family Portraits here in Daytona Beach are never the same from one day to the next. Our vacationing Bell family and I were delighted with the rippling sand dunes, and clear water from Ponce Inlet.  It was very windy on this day and we found the sand dunes had shifted by about 4 feet from a few weeks ago. Almost looks like snow, huh? Almost.. not bad for November.
